ALWAYS MAKE A PRACTICE REPAIR PRIOR TO DOING THE ACTUAL REPAIR
We suggest creating a similar blemish or damage on the small piece of practice vinyl included in this kit. Practice making a repair before doing the actual repair job.

PREPARE THE DAMAGED AREA
Clean the damaged spot with a conventional, non-soapy cleaner (rubbing alcohol works well). Trim off loose threads or damaged pieces of the leather or vinyl. If there is a depression under the damaged area, fill it in with cotton. The damaged spot should be level to the undamaged area.

ACTIVATOR
Add an equal part of the activator to the clear adhesive compound and mix thoroughly (You need to leave room in the bottle to mix. Therefore, add 1/3 activator to 1/3 clear adhesive). CAUTION: THE ACTIVATOR STIMULATES THE QUICK DRYING ELEMENT. YOU MUST USE THE CLEAR MIXTURE WITHIN 3-5 MINUTES AS IT WILL RAPIDLY BEGIN TO DRY.

CLEAR ADHESIVE (for damages smaller than one inch)
Fill the damaged area with the clear ADHESIVE to support the repair job and provide a base for the repair compound. Allow to dry for 20 minutes.

BACKING FABRIC (for damages larger than one inch)
Support the damaged area with backing fabric included in this kit. Cut a piece of fabric slightly larger than the damaged area and insert it into and underneath the damaged area. Fill the damaged area with the clear adhesive to hold the fabric in place. This will support the repair job and provide a base for the repair compound. Allow to dry for 20 minutes.

CREATING YOUR COLORED REPAIR COMPOUND
Using the spatula and the empty mixing bottle, create your desired color by following the color mixing guide located on the reverse side of these instructions. NOTE: Always start with the darkest color; continue by adding small amounts of additional colors until desired color is obtained.

GRAIN PAPER PACKET
The grain paper included in this kit allows you to transfer a pattern to your repair. Choose the pattern that most closely matches the item you are repairing. Apply a thin coating of the gel release agent onto the unprinted side of the grain paper and set aside.

ACTIVATOR
Add an equal part of the activator to the colored repair compound you created and mix thoroughly. . (You need to leave room in the bottle to mix. Therefore, add 1/3 activator to 1/3 colored repair compound.) CAUTION: THE ACTIVATOR STIMULATES THE QUICK DRYING ELEMENT. YOUR MUST COMPLETE YOUR REPAIR
WITHING 3 TO 5 MINUTES AS THE COMPOUND WILL RAPIDLY BEGIN TO DRY.

MAKING YOUR REPAIR
Apply the activated repair compound into the damaged area. Fill the area evenly and smoothly, overlapping the compound very little. Wipe away any excess compound using a paper towel or clean white cloth. Immediately place the selected grain paper (printed side up, gel release agent side down) onto the repair. Allow to dry for 20 minutes.

REMOVING THE GRAIN PAPER
After drying, slowly peel off the grain paper for a finished repair. Once the grain paper is removed, if there are any under-filled spots, you may apply additional repair compound to those spots by repeating these instructions. Remove any remaining gel release agent with a mild cleanser.
